Old magazine articles

Surfing through old garden magazines is so much fun.  If you go back to the 90’s there aren’t any URLs; just phone numbers - boy have things changed.  Reading through Sept/Oct 08 Garden Design magazine, I found the following:  Terrain at Styles (pg. 19).  Their stuff is fabulous; there are a handful of pictures showing containers; benches; waterfalls.  For more information, check out their website at: www.terrainathome.com.  Give www.gardendesign.com a try for more design ideas!

Design Ideas

I keep old copies of Garden Gate around for inspiration during the long winter months in Illinois.  The articles and design ideas are timeless and I always find something new to think about for the coming spring.  Have you seen Garden Gate magazine?  You can pick up a copy at Borders Books and from their website:  www.gardengatemagazine.com  For example, the February 2008 issue had an article about shasta daisies.  It points out that the daisy has many good qualities such as “forms nice clumps”; “stiff stem” and a “long bloom season”.  Try the garden design shown in the magazine on mygardenonline.com; check out whether it will work in your garden!
